Privacy Policy for Cam2You

Effective date: September 26, 2026
Last updated: October 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Cam2You ("the App"), made by TIE-Games ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use it on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Summary

2. YouTube API Services

Cam2You uses YouTube API Services to upload your videos to your YouTube channel. By connecting a YouTube channel to the App, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Google user data

3.1 What the App accesses

When you connect your channel, the App asks for access to your YouTube account through Google sign-in (the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube). With that access it handles:

3.2 How the App uses it

Only to provide the features you use:

The App does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, does not use it to build profiles, and does not use it to develop or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. No person at TIE-Games can see it.

3.3 Where it is stored

On your device only. Sign-in tokens are kept in the operating system's secure storage (Windows Data Protection, Android Keystore, the macOS and iOS Keychain, or on Linux the desktop's keyring, such as GNOME Keyring or KWallet). On a Linux computer without a usable keyring they are kept in memory only, until the App closes. Your channel's name and the records of your uploads are kept in the App's local database; upload records are refreshed from YouTube or deleted at least every 30 days.

3.4 Sharing

Google user data travels only between your device and Google. We do not share or transfer it to anyone, including ourselves.

Limited Use. Cam2You's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Your videos

The App reads videos from your camera, memory cards, folders and your phone's gallery to list and preview them. It reads the recording date and the camera's GPS position from the video files, on your device, to sort videos and suggest names and places; place names come from a database built into the App. When you cut or join videos, the App creates the new video temporarily on your device and deletes it after the upload. Auto-edit (Pro) looks at the picture, sound and speech of the videos you select and edits them into one, entirely on your device. Music suggests text prompts that you can copy into an AI music service yourself; the App sends nothing to such services, and uses the music files you choose only on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose it. Videos you upload become content on YouTube under the privacy you choose and YouTube's terms.

5. Location

For a video without a GPS position, the App may ask your device for its current location to suggest where the video was recorded. The location is used on your device only; it is neither stored nor sent anywhere. You can refuse this permission; the App then leaves such places empty.

If you turn on online place lookup (off by default), the App sends the coordinates of your videos to the configured geocoding service, such as OpenStreetMap Nominatim, to look up place names.

6. Cameras and networks

The App uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and your local network to find and control your GoPro and to copy videos from it, and it asks for the matching permissions (on Android: nearby devices and videos/media). Connection details for your camera, such as its Wi-Fi name and password, are kept in the device's secure storage and are used only to connect to the camera.

Network shares (SMB and FTP) you add are opened only from your device, with the user name and password you enter; the password is kept in the device's secure storage. PeerLink sends videos directly between your own devices on your local network, encrypted, after you pair them; nothing passes through us. While PeerLink's page is open, your device announces itself on the local network under a random name (such as "cam2you-4k7p"), never your name or the device's name. The App uses the camera only to scan a pairing QR code; the picture stays on your device.

7. Other connections

8. Logs and crashes

Logs and crash reports the App writes stay on your device, with tokens, passwords and exact coordinates removed. They are never sent automatically; you decide whether to send one to us.

9. Keeping and deleting your data

10. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union). Connecting a channel requires a Google account and a YouTube channel under their terms.

11. Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because the App keeps your data on your device, you can see and delete it there at any time. We do not hold personal data about you unless you email us or buy a desktop licence key; we keep your email only as long as needed to answer, and the order details of a licence key as long as tax law and support require. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

12. Security

The App connects to Google over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and keeps secrets in the operating system's secure storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we design the App to keep your data on your device and out of reach of others.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version is always at this address, and material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
