Privacy Policy for Panorun
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Panorun ("the App"), made by TIE-Games ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use it. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary
- You don't create an account with us. Our room server only passes the game on between the players in a room, and stores none of it.
- Your games, recordings and settings stay on your device.
- When you play online, the App shares what is needed to play together with the players in your room, and nothing else.
- The App contains no analytics, no advertising and no automatic crash reporting.
- We never sell, share or transfer your data.
2. What stays on your device
- Your games: the game files you add one by one are copied into a folder on your device (on Windows, Documents\Panorun); a folder of games you choose is read where it is. On Android everything is kept in the App's own storage: the games you pick with your phone's own file or folder picker are copied there, and the App sees nothing else of your phone's storage. The App reads your games only to play them.
- Your recordings: the runs you record are kept beside your games, and so is a backup the App keeps of every session - the buttons pressed and what was done in the App - so that a run is not lost if the App closes unexpectedly.
- Your settings: your keys and gamepad buttons, the name you play under and the rooms you joined (on Windows in %APPDATA%\panorun, on Android in the App's own storage).
3. Playing online
Playing online is up to you. A room runs either on a room server on the web - ours, at panorun-rooms.onrender.com, hosted for us by Render, is the one the App offers first (ROOM SERVER) - or on the computer of whoever opens it (LOCAL), which the players in it connect to directly. A room server someone else runs works the same way.
- What the players in your room see: the name you enter, the room code, which game you are playing (identified by a fingerprint of the game file, so that everyone plays the same game), where you are in the game, your character as it looks on screen, its health in the game and the blows it strikes, pictures of the parts of the level you have seen, for their map, and what the App has learned about the game (such as where the game keeps a character's health, and which buttons jump or strike). The other players' App keeps what it learned from you only in memory while it runs, and never writes it to their device. Your game files themselves are never sent.
- What the room server or the room's computer sees: like any connection over the internet, the server or computer that runs the room sees your device's IP address. When you open a LOCAL room, the invitation you send names your computer's address, so that others can join it.
- The room keeps none of it once it is closed. Our room server passes everything on while a room is open and stores none of it; its log notes only room codes and how many players are in them.
4. Other connections
- Room server: while the App's online form is open in its ROOM SERVER way, the App asks the room server which rooms are open, to list them. This request carries no data about you; like any website visit, it reveals your IP address to the room server and its host, Render.
- What is known of a game: once each time it runs, the App reads the list of games we have published a game file for (what is known of a game, such as where it keeps a character's health) from the room server set in its online form (ours: panorun-rooms.onrender.com, hosted by Render) and from our website (tie-games.com, hosted by GitHub), and marks those games in its game list. When you start a listed game that the App does not know everything about yet, it reads that game's file from there, asking for it by the game's fingerprint. These requests carry no data about you; like any website visit, they reveal your IP address to the server and its host. What comes back is kept in the App's memory while it runs and never written to your device. Nothing is ever sent the other way: what we publish we wrote and checked ourselves.
- Updates: on Windows, when installed from our website, each time it starts the App reads the list of its releases and their update information from GitHub (api.github.com and github.com), and downloads a new version from GitHub when you choose to update. These requests carry no data about you; like any website visit, they reveal your IP address to GitHub. On Android the App looks for no updates itself: the version from Google Play is updated by Google Play, and a newer version of the one from our website is downloaded from our website.
5. Logs and crashes
Logs the App writes stay on your device. They are never sent automatically; you decide whether to send one to us.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
- Saved rooms can be removed in the App's online form (the x beside each).
- Uninstalling the App deletes the App. Your games and recordings stay in their folder until you delete it, so that a new version finds them; delete the folder to remove them.
7. Children
The App collects no personal data from anyone, children included. Online play shares only the name a player enters, with the players in their room; younger children should play online only with people they know.
8. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because the App keeps your data on your device, you can see and delete it there at any time. We do not hold personal data about you unless you email us; we keep your email only as long as needed to answer. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version is always at this address, and material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
